This bibliography lists titles on "the most common research topic in Mormon history" in the 1980s. Davis Bitton wrote a bibliography essay (Journal of Mormon History, vol. 4, 1977) on polygamy analyzing books and articles published between 1907 and 1977. Scott's bibliography takes up where Bitton's left off. It is arranged in sixteen subject categories.
