This article gives an overview of scholarship on racial restrictions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Beginning with Lester Bush's 1973 article, the author also discusses the work of Max Perry Mueller, W. Paul Reeve, and Quincy D. Newell. These scholars have done much to bring to light the actions of the Church and the resulting experiences of Black members, but more research remains to be done.
