[2002 Mormon Historical Association Winner for Article Award of Excellence]
Biographies written about Church presidents, other leaders, rank-and-file members, women, RLDS figures, and dissidents during the past quarter century are critically overviewed. He notes some subjects that are worthy of biographical attention and others who have been written about, but need better treatment. He recognizes that the state of Mormon biography has improved, but that there is room for improvement. He mentions some of the problems in writing Mormon biography
