This book describes the lives of women who converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and emigrated from Britain to the United States. It examines their stories through the lens of popular stories about women being seduced by polygamist Mormon elders. Such stories reflect elements of the actual lives of these women, but were greatly sensationalized.
