Brief sketches of some of Nevada's communities settled by Mormons. Many of the original communities such as Genoa, Las Vegas, and Callville were settled for economic reasons astride trade routes. The Utah War, Indians, and changing trade patterns were factors contributing to their abandonment. Other towns such as Panaca, Mesquite, and Bunkerville were originally settled for farm land and are still occupied.
