An autobiographical article concerned with the philosophy of a scholar of Mormonism who is not herself a Mormon. Notes that she is charged with pro-Mormonism by anti-Mormons and anti-Mormonism by pro-Mormons. She steadfastly avoids discussion of all articles of faith, and instead deals with the results of philosophies, the functioning of the Mormon community. Her interest began when she was thrust into Mormon life in Utah and realized that she knew nothing about it. Her scholary interest continues because after 20 years of study, she recognizes that she still knows little about it.
