Many Church leaders in teh 19th-Cenutry were part of the Freemasons, thus resulting in some correaltion between the Freemason rituals and temple rituals in the LDS church. This article outlines some of the relationships and differences abetween both of these relationships and were the LDS endowment could have potentially drawn from previous Freemason ceremonies.
