"The book of Moses is an extract from Joseph Smith's New Translation of the Bible. It was revealed to the Prophet in 1830 and in early 1831, not long after the organization of the Church. This article is a brief introduction to the origin of the book of Moses and the Bible translation from which it derives" (abstract from article). The author discusses the translation and types of changes which Joseph Smith was authorized to make, as well as some later history about the coming forth of the Book of Moses.
