Wilford Woodruff was different from his predecessors and successors in one particular way he left an incredibly detailed handwritten record that spanned more than sixty years. His deep faith and religious devotion were a hallmark of his work as a missionary, Church historian, temple president, Apostle, and President of the Church. Through his skillful, inspired leadership and direction, he helped lead the Church into the social and cultural mainstream of American society. This book brings together selected presentations from the annual BYU Church History Symposium, hosted by BYU Religious Education, that celebrated the two hundredth anniversary of Wilford Woodruff s birth. It explores his life and the many roles he filled and helps readers gain a greater understanding of and appreciation for him.
