This article was originally the 2007 Sterling M. McMurrin Lecture. Lawrence Foster draws parallels between the Nation of Islam and the RLDS church. Both organizations acknowledged elements in their original belief systems as wrong and both groups have struggled with making changes in those belief systems. The article goes on to give brief histories of each organization and highlights leading personalities that effected those organizations.
