The Parliament of Religions at the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893 was intended to be an inclusive showcase of world religions and a means to unite them. However, it was more a demonstration of American Evangelical Christianity's self-righteousness. The LDS church was initially denied a place in the Parliament of Religions but was able to be subtly included in the Exposition as part of the Utah Exhibit. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir was a successful part of this exhibit.
