The British government conducted a religious census in 1851. It estimated Mormon Church membership was over 30,000 in 222 meeting places. There are extant branch records for 386 branches for that period that are microfilmed in the collection of the Family History Library. This religious census and the branch membership records are used to compile a comparison chart (p. 116-38) documenting the branches in England and Wales.
