This collection consists of a signed, typewritten statement by Paulina describing a blessing she was given by the Prophet Joseph Smith. She said, 'I was a little girl when the Prophet Joseph came to Jackson County, and distinctly remember attending a meeting in the house of Lyman Wight, at which he was present.' At this meeting Joseph Smith blessed the children who were present, and in her blessing Joseph said that Paulina would live to go on to the Rocky Mountains. She did not know what the Rocky Mountains were, but she associated the term with Indians: 'This frightened me for the reason that I dreaded the very sight of an Indian, and it was this circumstance that impressed this prediction made in my blessing, upon my mind.' The statement is dated July 31, 1902, and is signed by Paulina and by a public notary.
