Mary Morgan Williams was the daughter of David Morgan and Mary Davies Morgan Thomas. She was born on April 1, 1836 in Wales. She was the half sister of Ann Thomas Phillips and the only other member of their immediate family to leave Wales and come to America. She married Thomas X. Davis, together they had two children Thomas Davis and Mary Davis. Mary's husband Thomas died in 1879. Later she married a man by the name of Williams. She moved several places in the United States including Pennsylvania and Emporia, Kansas before settling in San Bernadino, CA. She died in 1894.

This collection contains the biographies of Jonah Phillips and his wife Ann Thomas Phillips, both which are available in collections MSS SC 234 and MSS SC 1837. This collection has been assembled by their descendants as a record of the Phillips Family. The collection is 143 lose sheets in length, containing biographies for Jonah and Ann Phillips and all of their children and the wives of their sons. The collection also includes transcripts of obituaries and other essential information. Page 36 of the collection is a short sketch of Mary Morgan Williams written by Adah Phillips Jessee. It is one page in length and gives a general overview of her life, focusing on vital information along with Mary and her children's interactions with their relatives who lived in Springville, Utah.
