Executed when thirteen years old. A highly finished drawing showing Foresight, the old astrologer, in his study bidding farewell to Angelica, the heroine. It is difficult to imagine this conventional scene as by the illustrator of "Lysistrata" or "Salome". It is, however, well drawn and conceived. The drawing was given by Bearsley to W.W. Hind-Smith for whom the artist "fagged" when at Brighton Grammar School. According to Hind-Smith (in a letter to John o' London's Weekly, Dec. 22, 1928) Beardsley was a useless "fag," hopeless at games and spent most of his time, in and out of school, making sketches.
