A fine letter, written to a Scottish doctor who gave lectures to the nurses at the Edinburgh Infirmary, permitting him to dedicate a publication to her, though "I have been obliged to decline or to make it a rule to decline all dedications. But you and your immense benefits to the Edinburgh Infirmary Nursing Staff are an exception to all rules. And if you wish to do me the favor in publishing these lessons which will be such an advantage to the Nursing World, I can only thankfully accept." Speaks of Miss Pringle, director of the school connected with the Edinburgh Infirmary and a great favorite of Miss Nightingale's, and ends "rejoicing in your works for the Nursing Cause, pray believe me ever your gratefully Florence Nightingale."
