A most interesting lot, chiefly dealing with the Brontes, Haworth, etc. Among the correspondents may be mentioned Sarah Newsome (Sarah Garrs), the Brontes' nurse--two charming letters about her relics of the family, Patrick Bronte, the girls' behaviour, their habits etc., written from America; two A.L.S.s of Mrs. Nichols, second wife of the Rev. A. B. Nichols who was first married to Charlotte; 13 from Mrs. Humphry Ward (some written by her daughter from dictation, but signed by Mrs. Ward); an original manuscript (7 pages) of a talk on the Brontes by William Watson; an original photograph of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Atkinson, Charlotte's god parents; a long series of letters from Erksine Stuart, Bronte scholar; many from Mrs. Chadwick, author of "In the Footsteps of the Brontes"; others from W. Robertson Nicoll, M. H. Spielmann, Lord Hadane, Sidney Lee, the Gaskell family, George Trevelyan, C
