Stevengraphs. Woven in silk. Thomas Stevens of Coventry began to make his pictures around 1879. Every conceivable type of illustration was produced--horses, famous persons, views, houses, bookmarks, valentines, etc. They were extremely popular in their day. Then for many years they were neglected, only to come back in the last few years as collector's items. Recently a view of Niagara Falls fetched £260 at auction. This view of the Crystal Palace is very delicate with its beds of red flowers in the foreground. In perfect condition.
