Author takes issue with J. D. William's article, 'The Separation of Church and State in Mormon Theory and Practice' (DIALOGUE, Summer 1966). He sees Williams calling for a policy of non-involvement in political matters in order to avoid unnecessary schisms in the Church. Author feels Williams is wrong and contends that the prophet has the right to speak on both temporal and spiritual matters and is in fact the last word and ultimate authority.
