This is a brief article, but I believe it is significant because it describes several of the Sunday Schools that existed in early Utah prior to the 1865-66 period when the Sunday School began to be re-organized. The article states that many schools broke up during the 1858 Move South, and many schools also disintegrated because of Indian wars. The author also mentions several schools that were established in Southern Utah between 1863 and 1866, but only one of which had continued uninterrupted until that time. That author states that from 1858 through the early 60s, the Sunday School work that went on was comparatively little, but that it picked up between 1865-66.
