A 78-stanza poem published in the "Times and Seasons" in 1843 over Joseph Smith's signature which paraphrases D&C 76 has received much attention in the last two decades after being almost forgotten for more than a century. Hicks argues that Joseph Smith lacked the occasion and the ability to write the poem and attributes its authorship to Smith's ghostwriter--W. W. Phelps.
