The author discusses the importance of maintaining Mormon heritage through saving and maintaining old buildings as well as keeping them for the inspiration, tradition, beauty, and pride they can provide. Author concludes that the Mormon Church has no consistent policy toward preserving its older buildings because the decision is made by different departments. Financial concern is a major force in the church's decisions toward old buildings but can be influenced by local concern and funding. Fifteen points of action and consideration in the preservation of buildings are provided at the end of the article.
