Study of incidence of plural marriage in Utah's 'Dixie' and Davis Stakes. Dixie at over 30% outstripped Davis at over 20%. Author feels that method of colonization may be the prime factor in explaining the disparity as the Church had to draw on its more committed to colonize Dixie. Author sees plural marriage as a transformative experience for the first two generations of Latter-day Saints.
