Organized in 1965, one of the founders looks back on the Mormon History Association on its silver anniversary. He discusses the establishment of awards, meetings, funded lectures, a published journal, and newsletter. He mentions some of the broad constituencies within the organization, lending diversity to the organization, but also including groups and individuals with sharply divergent points of view. He discusses the enlarged role of the organization as an attraction for history buffs. The organization has also been spared the internal fracturing which has beset many other professional organizations. In his opinion, the programs have become too large and the organization needs to attract more members. An appendix lists past presidents, executive secretaries, editors, council members, conference sites, Tanner Lecturers, and awards.
