This is a brief description of the William Robertson Coe Collection which Holland describes as 'one of the finest non-Mormon accumulations of important manuscripts and materials relating to the first half-century of LDS history.' (p. 386) The collection includes rare personal correspondence of early LDS leaders, the Bringhurst Manuscripts, the Howard Egan Papers, and the Thomas L. Kane Papers. Holland provides an example from the collection: an early report which seems to validate the early role of the three witnesses to the Book of Mormon.
