This is a short history of the failed Elk Mountain Mission of the Church. Huntington describes how initially the settlers focused on agriculture and preparing a safe haven in their fort, but eventually began to trade with the Indians in defiance of counsel to them. As a result, they put themselves into danger with the Indians which eventually led to their having to abandon the mission. Interestingly, Huntington includes a list of his source materials at the end of the last section, stating that he had endeavoured to give the history without preference to any certain individual.
