The Eskdale community, 90 miles west of Delta, Utah, exhibits qualities of Mormon (which its immediate origins are), Mennonite and Hutterite elements. Also, the community appears 'to combine Christian, Mormon, and Jewish traditions.' The survival of the group is 'partly dependent upon the ability of its leaders to mediate successfully between the demands of higher education, the Old Testament type traditions regarding the Levitical calling, and Glendenning's [the group's founder] revelations, and the demands of a protestant type revivalism.'
