From his statistical study of pre-marital sex attitudes and behavior Christensen has developed several hypotheses concerning LDS sex attitudes and behavior. 1) Mormon pre-marital sex norms are strikingly conservative. 2) Mormon Conservatism tends to be remarkably resistant to change. 3) Mormon deviants, although proportionally fewer, are apt to pay a heavier price. 4) Religious socialization can be seen as the major explanatory variable.
