This work discusses the history of Wisconsin. Pages 198-206 specifically describe the conversion of James Jesse Strang, the succession crisis after the death of Joseph Smith, the letter Strang produced that designated him as the next President of the Church, the city of Voree, the "Plates of Laban" and the "Book of the Law of the Lord," conflict between the Strangites and Wisconsin fishermen, Strang's crowning himself king and being charged with treason, and finally the death of Strang and the attack on the Strangites that drove them out of Voree.
