"In this book dedicated researchers have identified, described, and explained the use of each of the many homes Brigham Young established for his wives and families. . . .
"In addition to the main text, photos and three appendices augment the essential information available for each of Brigham Young's known homes. . . . While a few are discussed briefly in the text, appendix B lists all fifty-six of the women married or sealed to Brigham during his lifetime. That appendix also contains information on each woman's known marriages to other men and her children by each husband. Additionally, the note for each wife contains sources for information about her that extend far beyond the necessarily limited items included in the appendix itself.
"Several other women have been included in various lists of Brigham's wives, although no hard evidence of such marriages exists. Appendix C lists what is known about some of these women, again with a note on each woman containing extensive sources of information." [Preface] -
