Article is a reprint of a scheme developed by English Saints around 1846 whereby they would obtain English governmental assitance to colonize Vancouver Island. Included are the petition and various letters concerning the idea. The plan was denied by the government, who allowed the Hudson Bay Company to colonize the area.
