The article traces the teaching of grain storage from Nauvoo to Salt Lake City. The author uses many quotes from Brigham to show that he felt a great need to store grain for the needs of the Saints, especially for the poor. Heber C. Kimball also taught the importance of storing grain. The author then relates why Brigham turned grain storage over to the sisters--the brethren of the Church were too busy selling it and were not storing the grain for the future. The Relief Society did a good job of storing wheat up through the time of the writing of the article.
