Sixty pages of depositions were found in the National Archives relating to the victims of the Mountain Meadows Massacre. These depositions were signed by seventeen people and provide a glimpse of what the caravan was like. Although many of the emigrants who were known to have been in the caravan are not mentioned in the depositions, they provide a glimpse of the composition, leadership, and purpose for making the journey of many of the emigrants.
