This article traces very briefly the 60-year history of the society (1897-1957), and gives a brief biographical sketch of the then current Board of Trustees (Juanita Brooks, Louis Buchman, Leland Hargrave Creer, George F. Egan, Charles R. Mabey, William F. McCrea, Nicholas G. Morgan, Sr., Joel Edward Ricks, Russell B. Swensen, Lamont F. Toronto, Levi Edgar Young), the Director (A. Russell Mortensen), the Archivist (Everett L. Cooley), and comments on the library and the archives. Each of the sections are written by different authors. Nicholas G. Morgan, Sr. discusses the library and his personal association with it. Includes excellent photographs of the society building (the old Kearns mansion) and of individuals names above.
