"Joseph F. Smith served as the sixth president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1901 until his death in 1918. A man filled with dedication, love, and knowledge of gospel principles, he spent his life in service and led the Church forward into a new century. From age seven, when he helped his other cross the plains, to age fifteen, when he began his four-year mission to Hawaii; from his call to the apostleship to his service as counselor to four Church presidents; from his persecution for plural marriage to his significant contributions to Church doctrine, Joseph F. Smith was a courageous leader who dedicated his life to the Lord." [Publisher]
