Frank J. Cannon (1859-1933) was one of Utah's first delegates to Congress. A political maverick and persistent dissenter, Cannon advocated free and unlimited coinage of silver. The Republican Party favored bimetallism and Cannon attracted national attention when he lead a group of delegates out of the 1896 Republican National Convention over the money platform. The article briefly reviews the rest of Cannon's career including his break with the Mormon Church.
