Article is divided into two parts. The first part, labeled General Historical Works, surveys some general works on settlement in Utah. Books discussed are intended to be indicative of types of studies available and not an exhaustive listing. Part two is entitled Studies of Mormon Settlement. It is a selective review of scholarly studies of Mormon land occupancy. General themes, strengths and weakness of these studies are given.
