Author laments what he sees to be the relegation of the Bible to least among equals among the four standard works. He decries the proof-text approach to the Bible, with its lack of concern for historical and textual context, currently used in the Church. He calls on the Church and its members to adopt the historical approach to Bible study. He then takes Nahum and Revelations and applies this approach to show its superiority over the proof-test method.
