The author relates a visionary experience he had while on his mission in Hawaii in 1864. He was part of the group sent to investigate the charges brought against Walter Gibson; the group then toured the islands, searching for a new gathering-place. While in Laie, the author had a vision of Brigham Young telling him that Laie was the right place.
