Several stories of Church history and of Flake's personal experiences are told to illustrate the Mormon experience. These stories include: a family from Mexico is sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple; Flake's son serving a mission in Bolivia travels alone for a long transfer; Wilford Woodruff is surprised with a 90th birthday celebration in the tabernacle; Heber J. Grant rides on the back of a sleigh in which Brigham Young is a passenger; Mary Fielding Smith visits Hyrum Smith in Liberty Jail after the birth of Joseph Feilding; a young couple in Montana is converted to the Church after the death of their baby; Flake's young son is miraculously saved from a fall downstairs; two young boys who were born into a nonmember home, but blessed by a bishop that they would be raised in a strong LDS family are later adopted by and sealed to an LDS family; and, Melvin J. Ballard meets two missionaries at a station where the train is not supposed to stop.
