The author performs a reading of Doctrine and Covenants 128 and draws theological implications from the text. She concludes that "in order for the plan to work, in order for the baptism for the dead to be effected, these overlaps between heaven and earth should be, must be, daily, common, and in that sense, ordinary." She further asserts that daily scripture study, as a study of God's recorded voice, has "real potential for a daily encounter with the divine."
