Ancient Texts and Mormonism: Discovering the Roots of the Eternal Gospel in Ancient Israel and the Primitive Church
-
Salt Lake City, UT
-
"The following study has been designed to show that Mormonism is not a 'cultic' departure from 'historical, Biblical Christianity,' but a return to the Church's oldest beliefs, and a restoration of the forgotten but authentic doctrines which self-styled 'orthodoxy' has since abandoned. These include the discrete individuality of the Persons in the Godhead, salvation by grace (but judgement according to works), three degrees of glory in heaven, the preexistence of the soul, the eternalness of marriage, and man's potential deification through receipt of the Divine fulness. We shall also show that these important doctrines are all contained in the New Testament, as well as in the writings of the Church Fathers." [From author's foreword]
