Daughters of the Utah Pioneers

"The publication of this book is the result of a determined effort on the part of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers residing in Bingham, Bonneville, Jefferson, Madison, and Fremont, Idaho, which counties comprise the Upper Snake River Valley, to give a detailed account of the problems of pioneer irrigation. The Daughters united in gathering data such as records, stories, manuscripts, statistics, and all other pertinent material which would give authentic information. These women succeeded in collecting an abundance of heretofore unpublished material from which the pages of this book are written. It is presented with a dual pupose, that of making real and understandable the story of every stalwart pioneer, irrespective of creed, or nationality, and to make readily available these priceless gems of the early history of the Upper Snake River Valley."
