"The article reconsiders the importance of Africa in shaping the forms of Mormonism. It explores how local Mormons in Nigeria influenced the Latter-Day Saints (LDS) Church on a global level, or, how the periphery influenced the metropole. It relates the spontaneous growth of a Nigerian Mormon church. It argues that Nigerians have contributed greatly to the formation of Mormon beliefs, culminating in the 1978 priesthood revelation."
