Wilford Woodruff, Heber C. Kimball, and George A. Smith ventured forth to open the city of London to missionary work in 1840. They spent about three weeks there, enjoying little success. Two days after leaving London, Wilford Woodruff wrote a letter to his two companions reviewing in detail the various historical and cultural landmarks that they had visited during their travels in that metropolis.
