In the early 1900's, Charles G. Patterson fought for the beet farmers of Utah as major shareholders (mainly high leaders of the Church) worked to drive the market for their own financial benefit rather than that of the farmers. This article historically outlines that work to create greater protections for beet farmers in the state of Utah.
