"Henry Edwards Huntington collected rare books and manuscripts including a collection of Mormon materials; this growing collection now has few equals outside of Utah. It includes letters, diaries, and reminiscences written by members of the broader Latter-day Saint community. The Huntington Library acquired the John D. Lee papers, attracting Juanita Brooks to research at the library, and later the library hired her to harvest both original records and copies of privately owned records. The Huntington continues to collect early institutional publications as well as personal records of missionaries, settlers, politicians, and more. The collection “Mormonism and the West” is now available online through the Huntington Digital Library." [Publisher]
