When Abraham Lincoln was elected president of the United States, he charged B. H. Stenhouse with the developing a a comprehensive overview of Mormonism and their relationships with local, state, and federal governements so that Lincoln would be able to deligate policy appropriately with regards to mormonism. This chapter outlines the eventual relationship between Abraham Lincoln and the Latter-day Saint Church.
