"Practically Free from the Taint of the Bootlegger" : A Closer Look at Prohibition in Southeastern Utah

Although more urban aras of the United States saw a large amount of illegal production, selling, and consumption on alcoholic beverages during the Prohibition Era, rural communities likewise saw their fair share of traffic of alcohol. This article analyzes small Southern Utah communities and their cultural response to the Prohibition and illegal activities that ran through these small towns.
