"The story of the Great Basin is a vital segment of western Americana; yet it has never been told. The Great Basin is, of course, Mormon country. Rather amazingly, despite all that has been published about the Latter-day Saints, the complete saga of their pioneer period simply hasn't been put between the covers of any one book. Works on the subject seem either to fragment the story or the mire it in the proselyting effort. As a result, we have three distinct concepts of pioneer Mormonism, none complete. [Raymond W. Taylor] had a lifelong ambition to write the biography of John Taylor." [Author] This work discusses the life of John Taylor and how pioneer life developed.
